Why buy second-hand concrete equipment?

Many will agree that for any business including those in the construction industry, to be successful and to show a positive annual profit, a tight budget has to be set, which is structured to bring in a healthy growth for the business while not putting it into any financial deficit. One way of reducing overhead expenses is to buy used or second-hand equipment. This is of particular advantage if an item of machinery is required for just one particular project or if a fleet of construction vehicles are required for a companies ongoing contracts.

Utranazz has been in business for the past 43 years supplying concrete equipment to construction companies globally. We offer all concrete equipment either fully-reconditioned and repainted to customer specifications or in off-site condition. The majority of used equipment is from our own hire fleet and has a known service history. Equipment is usually no more than 3 years old and is kept in immaculate condition. All are sold with a 12 months warranty, subject to a full rebuild.

A wide range of equipment is available to view on the Utranazz site on the Used Concrete Equipment page. The products are displayed with an actual image of the item and a brief overview of its functionality and offer price, as follows:

3 bin dry-batch Concrete Batching Plant
Hydromix/Sami Model T3 - 3 bin dry-batch Concrete Batching Plant
Maximum output of 38m3/hour. Each hopper is fitted with extension boards increasing capacity from 4.5m3 to 9m3/hopper. Complete with a down-weighing 4 load cell weighing system with a 99 programmable memory and digital readout. Full control panel, 3 separate smooth-type conveyor belts discharging onto a high-sided and cleated discharge conveyor, which also folds away into the first aggregate bin for ease of transport. This concrete batching plant comes complete with 4 fold-away off-loading legs. For full technical details please ask for spec sheets / brochures. New/Unused with full warranty.

Used equipment is a financially viable way of growing your fleet without breaking the budget.

Advantage of Volumetric Concrete Mixers

Volumetric concrete mixers include all mixing devises that measure the raw materials using volume rather than weight to produce a concrete mix. The volumetric mixer blends the concrete mixture using an auger, paddle or a drum device to mix the ingredients with water. The volumetric mixing process starts with a batch metering system that allows the volume of raw materials to be measured prior to entering the mixing chamber. This process can be as simple as using a measured bucket, to highly sophisticated and computerized batch plants that feed the correct volume.

The mixing chamber can vary depending upon the application and the mix specification of the concrete. The volumetric mixer can be used stationary or mobile.

They offer substantial advantages over traditional methods of concrete delivery. A volumetric mixer is basically a mobile truck mixer and batching plant rolled into one. All raw materials are stored in separate compartments and these are then metered and mixed into fresh cement where and when it’s needed. This means that there is no expensive waste of materials, as the unmixed product remains usable indefinitely.

The Volumetric Concrete Mixer also eliminates the need for part load charges and problems with over or under-ordering. Customers can estimate the amount of cement needed and the exact quantity can be mixed on site, and they’ll only pay for what they use. Volumetric Mixers can supply all mixes and grades of cement, including screed and mortar. Mixes and grades can be switched from one customer to the next or even halfway through a job if necessary.

Advantages of this versatile Mobile Volumetric Batch Plant

The Mobile Volumetric Batching Plant has many unique features. It is used for the production of all types of concrete. This is possible through the fact that it transports all the elements needed for the production of concrete separately. Water, cement, aggregates and additives are all stored in separate containers and exact quantities of what are required are dispensed into the main hopper. The operator can, therefore produce the exact type of concrete he wants, where it is required and in what quantity.

The mobile concrete batching plant has its own computer and printer giving the operator the option to produce an invoice thus making the job even more efficient. It is fully remote controlled and has its own telescopic belt to discharge concrete almost anywhere without the need to add extension tubes.

An ex-demonstration Mobile Volumetric Concrete mixer is currently on the used equipment list on Utranazz website.

Utranazz launches mobile volumetric batching plant

Utranazz, the concrete equipment specialist, has launched the UK’s most versatile Mobile Volumetric Batching Plant (MVBP). The Hydromix MVBP has a unique roll-on roll-off system that allows for multiple mounting options:
  1. Inside the back of a tipper body,
  2. Onto a hook-loader sub-chassis,
  3. Skid-mounted for yard use,
  4. Permanently mounted onto the back of a lorry.
The unit was designed especially for the UK quarrying and recycling markets and is ideal for use by tipper fleet operators and on-site wet batching companies.
The Hydromix Mobile Volumetric Batching Plant works completely autonomously, having its own engine, hydraulic pumps, water system and loading/off-loading legs, and can also be skid-mounted and left to work as an independent unit on the jobsite.

As with conventional Volumetric Concrete Mixers, the Hydromix MVBP has 2 separate compartments for aggregates, a cement hopper, a water tank and additive tanks. Available in 2 – 10 cubic metre capacities, it can supply all types of concrete, screed and mortar in volumes from as little as a barrow load up to 60m3 per hour. It is fully radio remote controlled and is fitted with a telescopic discharge belt, capable of discharging at distances of 10m with chutes and slewing through 180 degrees, making on-site pouring easy. The mobility of the unit even allows concrete to be produced and discharged while the plant is moving.

The Hydromix Mobile Volumetric Batching Plant produces extremely accurate high-quality concrete, which can enable the user to easily achieve QSRMC accreditation.
